These are screen grabs from the documentary "Love Story", currently being made by Start Productions, London.
Most of the filming has now been completed except for one or two testimonial interviews and the film is now well into the edit stage. All being well it should be finished late summer/autumn 2006.

Arthur driving, as we filmed the (long) walk that he used to take from Dorsey High School, all the way to Capitol records in order to get himself a record deal. It was fascinating to hear him talk about the actual walk, how he used to bunk off school to do it, why he wanted to sign to Capitol, the artists that were signed to Capitol that were an influence at that time

Here's a shot of Arthur looking very cool.
This interview was conducted at the Mojo bar in Leeds, England in spring 2005

We managed to get access to The Castle in Los Feliz, LA. The current owners explained that they received requests on virtually a weekly basis to shoot at their house - for films, TV programs, TV ads - everything. They said that they now turned every request down but agreed to do this as they were interested in the history of their house and knew a little about Love and the musicians that had stayed, partied, or just passed thru their house in the 60's. Its an incredibly opulent place now. We were staggered at how the place looked - it was so grand! Certainly very different to when the band were staying there. Arthur had some great stories walking around the place

Johnny was a great interviewee, we just flew through the tapes interviewing him. he was so easy to listen to and was very precise and articulate in what he said. Johnny also took us back to Bido Litos (now a theatre) and also Canters. We filmed him at both locations

Snoopy.
We interviewed Snoopy outside these wonderful houses he'd built himself in the woods just outside Seattle. The house looked like something out of Hansel & Gretal. Snoopy was also a good interviewee and was very candid about his bitter/sweet recollections of his time with the band.

Michael Stuart-Ware.
Michael, like Johnny, was infinitely listenable to and again like Johnny had a really good recollection of the times.

John Fleckenstein
John was Love's original bass player, and talked of the time he was part of the American Four, and various other pre-Love line-ups with Arthur & Johnny. He left the band prior to their Bido Litos, residency and shortly before the recording of the first album to become a cinematographer. He was replaced by Kenny Forssi.

Robert Rozelle
Robert spoke about his time as a part of Love in the 70s & early 90s, as well as seeing the band as a fan in early days at the Brave New World.

Bruce Botnick.
We interviewed Bruce at his place just outside LA. It was interesting to get his view on the making of Forever Changes

Jac Holzman.
We were very keen to interview Jac. We went out to the states twice last year and were bothered that we couldnt hook up with Jac on the first visit. We made sure we got to interview him on the second visit - it was well worth it. His stories about signing the band, Arthurs genius, that period of the 60's, Elektra records, Arthurs insistence on him checking out (and signing) The Doors, etc. are so interesting

John Densmore.
John was very flattering about Love and the influence that they had on The Doors

Mike Randle & Rusty
We interviewed Mike & Rusty in LA back in May last year, on the balcony of the (in)famous Hyatt Hotel (aka The Riot House) on Sunset Strip.

Dave Chapple & Dave "Daddyo" Green
We caught up with Dave & Dave during the "Love Band" UK tour, just before they went on stage for the London concert at the Islington Academy

Bobby Gillespie & Mani - Primal Scream -
both huge Love fans, very enthusiastic, very knowledgeable. Lovely fellas.

Mick & John Head
We caught up with Mick & John in Liverpool, in March this year, just after they'd finished touring with Oasis. Again, top fellas and as you'd expect, very knowledgeable on Love
